Sunrise Decks & RV Products is nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of East Texas just outside
Noonday, known for cultivating its famous sweet onions. Noonday is a small town located south of Tyler.
Sonny Carson, the founder and owner of Sunrise Decks, conceived the notion of a free-standing portable
deck due to mere necessity. While working with the Navajo Indians in northeastern New Mexico, Mr. Carson
and his wife, Brenda, lived
on the reservation in their 32' fifth wheel for three years. They found that the sand, mud, and snow was
easily tracked into the trailer. Carrying grocery bags and laundry baskets was no easy feat when
contesting with the frail metal steps common to all R.V.'s. To avert the couple's mounting frustration,
Mr. Carson designed a crude prototype of a portable, easy-to-assemble deck that would be convenient for
them to take everywhere. When they eventually left New Mexico, Mr. Carson and his wife were able to
travel more freely and leisurely across the country. At every park and resort the Carsons stayed, other
RV'ers and passersby could not help but notice and inquire about the deck. An overwhelming majority
shared the frustration that brought the deck to life, and most wanted to know how they go about owning
their own deck. Thus, Sunrise Decks was born.
Mr. Carson prides himself on the superb quality of his products. He impresses upon his staff and workers
the absolute standard of excellence in all phases of business, yet he stresses the importance of
maintaining a down-to-earth friendliness with southern hospitality.
From media and office personnel to welders and hand labor, Sunrise Decks & RV Products is a
family-owned and operated business.
Mr. Carson has many more projects on the drawing board to be introduced in the near future. So
there's more to come!
